I am new and I am Polish. I have a problem to translate phrase "Use a power source that includes a leakage breaker." . Could somebody help me to describe what leakage breaker means. I suppose that it is advise protecting mains that is differential current breaker for example 30mA, but I have to be sure 100%. I did not find in any dictionaries the leakage breaker. May I quote your answers in another forum for others polish electricians.

I sounds like what they are referring to is ground fault protection for equipment [GFP].
It is required for services of 1000 amps or more with over 150v to ground, but I’ve seen it used on smaller feeders.
Take a look at NEC articles 100, 230.95 and 215.10 for a better explanation.

My apologies. After rereading your post, It is clear that you are looking for an actual description and not application.
Below are some web links that I hope may help. smile

Thank You very much KJay for quick reply.
As I suppose that it is not easy to translate generally, but rather to refer to the unit, kind of unit.
Forgive me my English, please.

Jen Dobre and I hope I got the spelling correct. Welcome to the board.

I would agree that it is ground-fault detection you are asking about. I pressume Poland is uses the Intenational Electrical Code. Can anyone like my Canadian neighbors to the South quote the IEC on GFP?

Thank You very much, too. We use European and world devices, so we have to deal sometimes with technical differences like voltage, frequencies.
But generally we install modern protection devices for years. Sometime I have problem to search more technical informations about devices, but generally practice make a master like people say, so I practise. I work as electrician in maintenance electrical machines in production factory. If I need to learn about electric news I have to read manuals in English, That is necessary.
'Jen Dobre' is good, We write 'Dzień Dobry', but our spelling is so complicated that even native polish makes
errors, so You should be proud of your spelling.

Long time ago Krakow was our Capital. It is beautiful town.
Nowadays many polish friends from other countries visit Krakow, for weekend and for spending a good time.
If You want to see it again in internet try:

It is a map with +, - like in google map but better.
often occurs errors, but ... a little exercises ... and works. It is really a good fun for relaxing. sorry for not writting an electrics, but electrician is a human, too.
