Hehehe, thanks to this forum, I solved a problem that probably would have taken us hours to diagnose had I not read about a 'fix' on this very board.

We install CCTV systems and I've always heard people talk about the 'ground loop' problem with camera systems and how lines show up on the screen. We've never experienced this problem in all our installs.....until today.

We installed 5 cameras and sure enough the 5th camera which is a metal camera installed on a metal plate, on a metal pole and sunk into the ground gave us the lines-in-the-picture syndrome.

Thanks to you guys, I solved this problem in seconds. Whereas, normally, I would have spent possibly hours, diagnosing whether it was a bad balun, bad camera, or interference with the wire.

Great Forum and glad I found this place.

Keep up the good work!

Sandro.

EDIT-- For any who were wondering the solution, we isolated the camera from the metal base with a piece of industrial rubber. Mounting the camera on a PVC box and then to the metal base would have worked too, but but we didn't have one on the truck at the time.

Those ground loops can cause all sorts of problems with sensitive audio and video gear.

Glad you managed to solve it in short order. [Linked Image]
