I have an f150.One thing to look out for on the new 5.4 motors are the plugs.From 97-2003 a small percentage would literally blow the plug and cop out of the head resulting in a $3000 bill if not under warranty.The 2004 and up 5.4 was redesigned with a new plug but we are finding that they must be replaced every 30,000 miles or the plug can a seize in the head and bust off so watch for it.I really do love my 99 but hate the motor for the plug and piston slap problems.I have not had any but i sits in the back of your mind.The dodges have tranny problems and the chebbies have piston slap and valve problems so is depends on your luck.
Like someone already said get a Power Stroke diesel just IMHO.
