I can't say anything about the mileage but the 5.4 is an awesome motor.
My friend has one in an new F350 and he can keep right up with me towing our race cars on open trailers. I have a '96 F250HD with a 7.5l/460.
I LOVE m truck but will replace it with a new F350 real soon.
You can't compare 150's to 250's and 350's. The latter are real heavy duty trucks. Like rewired, my F250 weighs 6300#...dry with no driver!
I'm lucky to break 12mpg, but I really don't care.
Although I will say, the new F150s are very nice.
I have to ask. DO you guys actually like working out of a utility body/tool cap trucks?
I can NOT see doing that. Much as I hate vans I can't see working out of anything else. 'Cept maybe the new Freightliner Sprinter I drool after....
