Wasn't there a rule or maybe a proposal to have the outlet for a hood over a residential kitchen range on a separate circuit? Can't find it.

I found the code reference I was looking for and it appears that the connection of a range hood is permited to be cord and plug and if so it must comply with 422.16(B)4. Other than that it muist be hard wired.
