Mr. moderator:

Don't you think the time has come to combine this forum with "NEC and other code issues"? Not too many folks are separating 2005 NEC from the NEC anymore. It is almost 2006.

There will be a need for "2008 NEC" in October of 2007, when the new code is released.

I suppose it really depends on when the code is actually adopted (July 1, 2006 in Fla)

Would you all please stop rushing with these new Codes. The county I live in is still using the 93.

I called another county nearby and was told they are using the 84 edition.

I'd say time to merge as it is almost 2006 we are close to a year into the latest cycle. As for the jurisdictions that are stuck in the past it would be best if you indicate what code cycle you are trapped in when you ask a question.

NJ is still under the 2002 NEC. I keep hearing that the 2005 NEC will be adopted "Real Soon!" I been hearing that for at least 6 months now.

NJ "generally" adapts the new code at the same when license renewal happens.

As the renewal procedure - and the mandatory CE hours - are still "open", why insist that the change occur "now". This is the reason you are still being told "real soon" and have been for six months now. You would know that if you had an EC license.

One of my instructors at school - who is also an electrical contractor/ inspector/ teacher - says New Jersey will adopt the 2005 NEC on July 1, 2006.
