i recently took an examination in texas and one of the questions on the test has me baffled. what is the maximum ampacity rating for a hermatic refigerant motor branch circuit against ground fault? no other specs were included. my choices were 25 30 35 40.any help greatly appreciated. thanks
I suspect there was something missing in the question and so the Smart A** is 40 since that is the largest option. Maybe they expected you to recall some information from another previous question??
Originally posted by Gfretwell Using "test taking" logic I would go for 35a since it is the only one that is divisible by 7. 440.22(A)"..."a protective device having a rating or setting not exceeding 175 <seven quarters> percent of the motor-compressor rated-load current..." I bet there was a 5hp motor in there somewhere. (20aFLA)
Would this be the same thing as 14 bits?
