FPL has us right at 13 cents a KWH on around 1600 a month. If I can find a bill I will break that down. It is a bunch of line items to get to that number but this is bill/KWH

Alice Springs, NT, Australia:
Domestic metered rate is 15.42 cents per kilowatt hour (including goods & services tax) plus $0.27/day connection fee.
The rate for credit metered properties is slightly higher (about 17 cents per kilowatt hour), not too sure if the connection fee is also payable.
(AU$ 1.00= US$0.76 approx.)

I'd forgotten there had been another rate increase until I received my bill yesterday. New rates:
Day, primary (first 229kW/h) = 33.35 cents Day, secondary (remainder) = 19.99 cents Night = 9.03 cents.
Same conversion as before, £1 = $1.90
I've posted links to the actual bill in Rodalco's "Yearly usage" thread.

I'm in Chicago and as Ghost said, we pay $0.08275/KWH. My "Customer charge" is $3.39, as opposed to his $2.94. Every month, they list an "Instrument Funding Charge Credit" & "Instrument Funding Charge Debit", which exactly cancel. Why bother??? My rates have only decreased. I first moved to Chicago in '93 when they charged $0.10819/KWH and a "Basic service charge" of $3.80. In 2000, I was paying a $3.58 "Customer charge" and $0.08770/KWH. We had one month of $3.45 and $0.08418/KWH in October 2001 before settling into the constant, cheapest, rate shown above. Paying a reduced and constant price for anything for over 5 years obviously has nothing to do with market forces. Closest thing I can think of is a blanket contract with a vender. How many of those span 5 years? Joe
