I would say Im used to the cold, having grown up in New England. Since Ive never lived anywhere else, I take the weather for granted. So, you just have to deal with the cold, ice and snow. The way I deal with it is to wear lots of layers instead of one heavy jacket. And on the really cold, windy days, you just have to find some work indoors if you can!
We have a saying here in New England that if you dont like the weather, wait 5 minutes.

I remember on my visit to San Diego how the news reporters were getting all flustered about the rainstorm that hit the coast. Im thinking "whats the big deal?" And I remember standing outside in a t shirt and shorts and having people ask me "Are you cold?" I told them how back home it was cold and snowing, so 50 degrees in January (at night) was pretty nice! The moral of the story is that if youre not used to rain, cold and snow it can be a real shock.

Hello everyone. I am an industrial Electrician. I’ve been off work for 2 ½ years, due to back problems and then depression. My job consisted of troubleshooting and repairing high-end machines. I’ve been an electrician for 25 years. I got my Residential Electrical License in 1993. I didn’t keep it renewed, due to having a child to rise and then a divorce. I am studying now to get my license again. When I first found this site I went back and read every post I could get at. Thanks to everyone who has provided so information.

I would like to say how nice it is to be part of this Forum!

I'm glad that everyone here has been able to either pass on information, or benifit from that information.

Also glad that I have been able to assist a few people without making them completely corn-fused! [Linked Image]

P.S. Have any of the Newer Members browsed through the Computer, Tech and Theory areas?
If so, what do you think of the stuff there and do you have comments / suggestions, or things to contribute?

TIA!

Scott

I am from ohio and work for the most respected company in the world. Ha! Ha!
We can't get the co. to even send us to free training. I have been in the trade since 1974 and working as an industrial electrician for 20+ years. We work on voltages from 24VDC to 4KV. I also install PLC's, wwrite programs for the plc's and draw my own prints with autocad.

Estero Florida here, South of Ft Myers.
I retired 30 years in IBM then 8 years as a state electrical inspector. Pretty much retired now but I am always open to an opportunity.
