This installation has each phase double lugged to avoid double tapping the main service feeder breaker. From the service pedestal there is a 200amp service disconnect that feeds two 100amp panels, each is fed with 2/0 THHN (yes, a tad under) and both the 2/0 are lugged together one slightly longer to accommodate the breaker. To finish the installation, each of the wires go to a separate 100amp main breaker in a 100amp panel. Please advise was this an acceptable solution to this installation? Not my install. I have not seen this before.
...Generally,(2)wires under one lug is a violation,unless that lug/breaker is listed for such..as far as I know,Square D,are the only breakers whose lugs are listed for (2)wires,..but 2/0?? how did they fit (2) of them under(1)lug?? sounds fishy to me...Good Luck!! Russ

I am not aware of any "box" lug (the ones with a hole in them) that is rated for multiple conductors per hole. Lugs with "pressure pads" are often rated for two conductors.
Any electrical supply house has, or can get, a variety of devices to make this sort of connection properly. One type has openings for three wires.....use with a short pigtail from the breaker. The other is a machined block with connections for two wires, and a solid 'tail' that is inserted into the breaker.
thank you for the responses, I was n to clear on the lug. It is a double lug, with one wire in each lug, one wire longer to accommodate the breaker. Sound like it is not as bad as I thought?
