Greater Phila. PA area--
My observations(non-union)
Industrial maint. electrician avg. $18-25.00/hr
New residential construction $12-18.00
Commercial/Industrial construction $18-25.00

Industrial in dallas ft worth area ranges from 12 to 19 dollars per hour....<G>

Union $21 hr plus about $12 hr in benefits (social security, workers compensation, unemployment insurance, health plan, retirement plan, vacation)

non-union- top man $13 to $15/hr, no benefits other than those required by law.

Self employed- whatever the market will bear, sometimes not very much.


Few things are harder to put up with than the annoyance of a good example.

Dallas and Ft Worth combined their IBEW locals. I believe the scale is around $21 with benefits adding around $5 to that. It has been some time since I've worked through the hall so my figures may be inaccurate by a dollar or so.

NYC union $42 perhour in the envelope

Non union $18-40 per hour dependig on experience.

Self employed whatever you can get.

PS this is what the men get paid not what the customer gets charged, customer get charged much more to cover benefits, and profit.
