I have been here more than a year now and I have a couple of questions.
1. How do you change the font of your posts. Mine always look so boring because they are the same boring font.
2. How do you post pictures? I would like to post some but I do not know how.
If any one has another questions about how to use this board please post them here. I know there was a question about how to view someone's profile. The only dumb question is one that is not asked.

Hi Scott There is not much you can do with you font other than using bold or italics. If you want to post a picture you will need to have web space to upload it to. For help with the UBB code necessary to do these things go here: https://www.electrical-contractor.net/ubb/ubbcode.html Curt [This message has been edited by caselec (edited 03-09-2003).]

On the second question..."Send w/Info to Photos@Electrical-Contractor.net" is probably the simplest way if you don't have a place to post them yourself. The tradeoff is that if you'd like to use a .jpg, .gif, .bmp or .tif file in a message you must to wait until someone at E-C.net can post it. I hope that makes a little sense. (It's kinda' geeky, but it gets easier after you've done it a few times.)

Send the image to me and I can post it for you too. .JPG of .GIF usually is the best format. You could also post it from some other location by inserting the file between the following with no spaces: Try it by inserting the following address in place of the words "no spaces" above ... remember no spaces. https://www.electrical-contractor.net/images/flag.gif JoeT@joetedesco.com

Using Joe's instructions you can load images from other places. Place you mouse over the picture you want, right click on it select properties and you will get the address for that picture, in this case the address is http://www.aifittings.com/images/b2_800ima.gif By inserting this address between the UBB codes that Joe used you will get this. You can use the edit button on anyone's post to see what the code looked like for whatever they did, you can not change someone's post only look at it. You can have images from many sources. Just one minor point to add: When inserting a URL between the [ img ] tags, you must include the http:// prefix or it won't work. Any URL that can't be located will show up as a small box with a red cross, like this: [This message has been edited by pauluk (edited 03-09-2003).]

Something to mention here is that the images should also be appropriate for this Forum. They should not be in bad taste or have potential copyright infringement issues.
Also, sizewise it is more pleasant if pictures fit in the window without scrolling from side to side. If they stay at/under 550 pixels wide that is not an issue. File size can be a concern for those still on slower dial-up connections. Files over 100k in size can slow down page loading considerably, and they do add up.
