Any of the contractors here having issues getting materials??
How about the local utility co. (POCO) having delays??
I'm hearing a lot of issues for the last few weeks.

I hear supplies are tight but the biggest complaint is the price. If you don't have the materials on hand, your bid might be low. I saw a roll of 12/2 Romex for $180 the other day at a big box store. Yikes.

Just saw 12/2 Romex $165/Roll @ HD. They're locking it up now Because people were tossing in a shopping basket & rolling out the front door without paying for it at big box stores, you either stop it or go out of business.

That may be more of a California thing. We have not decriminalized shoplifting in Florida. They don't have a problem arresting people here. We still have people rolling carts full of merchandise out the door but the pictures are on the news and they catch a lot of them ... usually driving back to Miami.

Recently saw a theft article here for $3200 in 'wire' (probably Romex) from the Orange Box. Was put into a stolen SUV, and the thief got caught.
An interesting theft was some brave (stupid or skilled) thief cut the 4160 volt primaries from a mat transformer pad, then cut the secondaries from the pots to the buss that went thru the wall. Guess it was about $150-$200 in scrap value. Now, the bldg. owner needs a new service!
