this thread also raises an interesting point - reference is to parking garage sump which would have a hazardous location category assigned to it. But the motors are not rated for hazardous category and the wiring method is cabtire which is also not rated for hazardous location to my knowledge.

Seems to mirror this thread regarding the hazardous area.
One point to remember is the pump controller must have an intrisic barrier. I would have guessed that the cabtire cable connectors would serve this purpose but perhaps not. The pump controller would always be above the classified area.

I don't think that I've seen a controller with an intrinsic barrier.
