Our Friend Bryan Holland (BHGravity) brought up an interesting conundrum in 210 over at his house. We all know 210.11(C) Exception says we can have the fan and counter receptacles in a bathroom on the same circuit if that is the only bathroom served ... but since 2005 210.23(A) Exception says you can only serve "receptacles".
Well, 210.23 (A) exception, refers you to 210.11 (C) ("..specified in that section."). I would interpret that to make 210.11 the govorning rule,in this instance.(bathrooms)
Additionaly, most exhaust fans do have recepticals in the units. So don't wire the vanity light and switches.
