i still have a 3 digit phone number! [Linked Image]

we got one of the last before they swithced to 4 about 15 years ago.
They run 6 digits now for a few years...

Germany always seems to have been big on variable-length numbering, even within one C.O.

Most everywhere else has converted to a closed (fixed-length) scheme over the years.
