Today this biggest cruise ship ever built, arrived at Jellicoe Wharf, Auckland, New Zealand to visit for the day.
Cost NZ$ 1.1 Billion, about US$ 750 Million.
Imagine being an electrician on board.
The ship is 23 storeys high and weighs 1.5 Million tons.
I took some photo's from Stanley Point, Devonport, North Shore.
Just to get an idea of the size of the ship against the background of the city.
Of course the close up view from Quay street, Down Town was a hughe traffic jam, and obstructed by containers and freight trains.

Great photo's Ray!.
Apparently they were saying on the News that the QM is longer than the Sky tower is high.
Not sure how relevant that is, I have no idea how tall the Sky tower actually is.

Thanks Kenbo for the actual facts for Queen Mary 2.
It is an enormous ship, and very powerfull.

I see i was wrong with the weight which is 150,000 tons.

Mike, details for the Sky Tower which is 328 meters tall.

Interesting stuff Ray,
Quote
The mast on top of the Sky Tower houses an FM antenna that broadcasts 17 stations (a world record for just one antenna) and a 2nd FM antenna has been installed for the new stations above 100 on your dial.
Hmm
