Most interseting Steve,I wonder what route these are taking to come into the country? When you say water purifiers some of these things run off ELV system dont they via a TX with usually a very small supply flex. I agree with DJK sounds like an accident waiting to happen. Job for the trading standards I think . Makes you wonder what the rest of it is like?

One more bit of info, the unit turns out to be a water chiller unit.

It happens from time to time that the unscrupulous manufacturers substitute proper cords for cheap illegal versions. BS1363 without fuses, grounded 10A computer cordsets with Europlugs on... I reported one of the latter to the authorities a couple of years ago.

We could eliminate a lot of this junk if we simply stopped importing anything with "Made in China" on it. [Linked Image]

These unfused plug is made by Taiwanese manufacturer.
8 years ago I bought an external parallel port to IDE device, that sh*t was in the box.

Un-fused 13A plugs - legal in UK? Unfused 13A plugs
Chinesese manufacturer made fused plugs, quality varies from brand to brand.

Don't blame "Made in China". Imoprter had responsibility for their product.
