Music is electrically relevant Of course! Now, where did I put my old 45 of "High Voltage" by Johnny & The Hurricanes?

MikeJust by reading some of the older ECN threads, I'm a bit of a reel to reel tape recorder fan and thought while listening to the Simple Minds, on reel to reel of course. I bump it up, we have a lot of new members, who may listen to interesting types of music. Cheers Ray

The album of the moment has to be The Understanding by Royksopp - sounds like most of you old guys wouldn't enjoy it too much though When I'm working, I like listening to Norah Jones and Sarah McLachlan - nothing too quick! When I'm packing up and heading for the van and off home then we need something a bit more up-tempo like Mylo, Plump DJs, Deep Dish or Royksopp.

In my travels, I aquired a taste for the unusual.....so I often listen to Radio France while on the computer. Radio Israel also has some interesting music stations. www.rfimusique,com www.kolisrael.com Deutch Welle, "Radio Germany, isn't bad either. Anyone else have a web radio program worth listening to? One does get tired of the usual Top 40 playlist all the time!

Not particularily "web", but I do get some FM stations with music programmes, on satellite; edge.ca and q107.com .
The Pandora Music Project is swell.
I listen to Live365 now and again.

Kiwi, I've been listening to Audioslave, Pearl Jam and a few others for ages. As you say, music made with REAL instruments and a voice is a rarity these days. I like my Blues though, Gary Moore and the late Bo Diddley, rank high on my list. Just have one listen to Gary Moore's "Story Of The Blues", LISTEN to the guitar solo and tell me that that doesn't say something to you.

Scott35, Mike and Rodalco. You 3 seem to pretty much sum up my taste in music.
nobodies mentioned the likes of Pink Floyd, ZZ Top, ACDC and the likes yet.
Rodalco, Patrick Hernandez Born to be alive was a must for just about every DJ from about 76 when it was released on. Some other disco sounds from that era are Sylvester, Hamilton Bohannon, Fern Kinney, Roni Griffith, Jimmy Bo Horne, Fantastique etc etc.
Also love folk music, especially the Corries.
Cant stand rap. seems pretty pointless and depressing to me.

>>I have to put a word in for the Thin White Duke (David Bowie), the guy has just kept re-inventing himself over the last 40(?)years and it has always been for the better.<< Err, how bout that phase where he was in Berlin in the early 70's.. I like David Bowie, but have you ever heard the german language version of "Heroes" that he did? *shudder* The word caterwauling comes to mind.. or perhaps the shrieking of cats

Trumpy, Gary Moore is my one of my favourite guitarists. His solos on "Still Got The Blues" are incredible. I like Phil Lynott(Thin Lizzy) too.
