does anyone know a better way to hook up 4 way switch circuits controlling a ceil fan and light seperately other than running parallel 14-3's to each switch ? I hope this makes sense..

here's the situation. I'm controlling a ceiling fan light from 3 locations and now the home owner wants all the lights and fans on different switches.I know I can double run the 14-3 to each location and do this , but is there a better more economical, less laborous way to accomplish this?

As jeffrose mentioned, the option of using some types of Remote Control might be of assistance here.
Either Radio, Ir, or carrier current, this would eliminate additional cabling - but increase the costs and complexity of the switchloops.
X-10 equipment is one popular Carrier-Current method of control.

Scott,
Do you like the X-10 system? Icall it X-maybe, what about radio ra? But I think Randy was trying to keep it economical.

I'm sure you offered this, Randy. If not it's a few months too late, but power to the fan/light and three remote controls are pretty easy on the labor.

Battery-type remotes, that is...not hard wired.

Besides X-10, you could also go with a Touchplate (despard ?) LV switch setup & remote relays near the load(s). Probably not the cheapest, but pretty easy to install.
Since this is long after you probably finished, tell us how you finally did it.
