If you ride a motorcycle as I do I'm sure you have been frustrated by traffic signals that don't "see" the bike, due to the lack of metal mass. Would placeing a large magnet under the frame of the bike help? My thought is that the field of the magnet would interact with the field of the induction loop, causeing it to trip the controller. Thanks, Dan.

Just flick the kickstand down right over the loopa when you are stopped. You can usually see it as a saw cut in road.
This used to work years ago.

If I can see the saw cut I'll put both tires on it, and that works fine, but if the cuts have been paved over I'm out of luck!! Thanks for the tip though. Dan.

Hello everyone;
Does anyone have links to some sites, where I could gather a bunch of information on the operations, setups, designs, and programming of Traffic Signal Equipment in North America (U.S.)???
Been thinking of compiling such data to my Libraries of Tech. stuff for quite some time now.
Mucho Gracias en Advance por La Informacion (TIA for the info!).

No links, but here are some references: MANUAL ON UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES FOR STREET AND HIGHWAYS (US Gov. printing office),
TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES HANDBOOK,
MANUAL OF TRAFFIC ENGINEERING STUDIES(from Institute of Transportation Engineers),
TRAFFIC SIGNAL INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL(from Institute of Transportation Engineers)
You might try to find a link for Eagle Signal or E.W. Bliss Company, in Iowa.
We purchased out traffic controls back in 1990 from Gades Sales in Littleton, Colorado. You might contact them for links.
Looking forward to you findings!
