I've only been over to this location once in the last 5 or 6 years. But if I were able to frequent this location it would be fun to slowly and nonchalantly relocate loose items to the trash bin until the room was empty and clean.

Trumpy - this is a steel shed built on the roof. It was painted at one time. You can see our maintenance is top notch.

Offhand, aside from the janatorial stuff, and associated crap, I don't see that much stuff that dosen't belong there at all..

I see air filters, and air ducts, and assuming that the filters are installed in that room, having a reasonable stock of replacements is not unreasonable.

Supplies for generator maintainance, such as oil, starting fluid, etc are also reasonable, as is a small amount of fuel.

I'm assuming the generator is diesel, with a small day tank, fed by a larger tank downstairs. This arrangement has been known to fail, so having a couple of jerrycans, and a hand pump available is a good idea in case you have to hand carry fuel up from downstairs.

Remember that in a situation where the generator is required to be running, you may not have the option of running out for supplies.

A good preventive maintainance program does wonders, but unless you exercise the generator regularly under full load, you can still have problems.

I would say that an appropriate storage cabinet would be in order, as would proper mounting for the fire extinguishers, but I wouldn't say that everything must go.

I wonder who the genius was that decided it was a good idea to install water lines and a water heater in that kind of room?

Hey, at least it's an electric water heater. By the way, geniuses (genii ??) abound around here. Really. No, really they do.

I read somewhere that the American continent is sloped east to west. All the 'nuts' roll towards the Pacific. [Linked Image]

I would be interested in knowing if there are any special safety considerations for this room since there is a HV oil disconnect switch in here.

I can tell you that there are no special safety concerns for this room that are actually applied, hence the condition of the room.

And yes, we all walk with a bit of a port list.
