i just recently ordered a book i found online called NEC Industrial and commercial pocket reference, should be here tomorrow. I was just wondering if any of you guys have it and what you think, they also have a residential reference book to, looks like the books just break the larger Nec book into sections so hopefully you can look things up a little quicker. it is produced by nfpa just like the regular NEC book.

I've never seen it, but would like to hear your opinion of it. Let us know what you think. Regards, Doc

well wife picked up my book today, after just looking through it looks like a good book same stuff as nec but only has the industrial commercial stuff, about 1" thick 6" long and 3" wide, alot better than draging out the big bible. iam going to order the residential one now

I have them both and I don't really like them because I am so used to finding things in my nice tabbed out 7 rings binder version of the actual code. Also, there are things left out of the quick reference that I have needed so it didn't do me any good. Fortunately, I knew that something was missing. Someone not as familiar with the NEC may misuse the quick reference and do something incorrectly. The quick reference is NOT a replacement for the NEC, it should only be used as a supplement for those very familiar with the NEC. In my opinion.

Steve: Very interesting! Please cite a few examples, if possible. I also have the set. They were designed to put the rules in order that are associated with the progress of a job, and that was a good idea! Thanks! Thanks steve, i still have my 1999 nec in my tool box and use it also. i just wanted something a little smaller to do some quick references with. i will have to look into the missing items and could you please elaborate. I put tabs on my large nec book and it does make it alot quicker.
