Next we have our closet containing (2) 200 amp panels and a 60 amp transfer switch. Is a 10” doorway enough access? Next is a 50 amp subpanel. I don’t know what it feeds, because nothing is labeled. Neutral and EGC landed on neutral bar, no bond screw so the panel housing isn’t grounded at all. Please note the sump pump directly underneath, and the no-longer wanted 3way rolled up above it.

Last, a few minor items. Just another buried j-box I found in the ceiling (viewed through a recess can I dropped for fishing) Then an extension cord exiting the house over the panel. I don’t know where this goes yet. And lastly, the other end of the cord. I think I will be busy for a while!

The original inspection stickers, from the mid-1990's. There is no way this basement would pass an inspection. It needs to be completely gutted and started over. No kidding, its bad.

That "wall wart" in the last pic looks as though it's almost pulled the 3-way tap out of the receptacle. Those things have a lot to answer for!

Is the 3-core 1/0 cable (alongside the orange extension cord) the feed to one of the sub-panels?

looks like the place was remodeled after the original electrical installation.

Yep, I like that term also NORCAL. I'll have to add that one to my vocabulary.
