At least the original installer used what looks to be the proper wire and not speaker wire.

OK, add a -10 for no junction box at the side of the can, or perhaps the factory flex to a box.

I am not sure it does say Canada Wire on IT.
yes that was on of our version that stuff is about 20 years old I think. Our newer stuff would be the same as the Southwire Brand with another coating of "plastic" over the individual conductor insulation
