Just curious if Canadian electricians can work in the states and visa/versa

You need to be able to legally work in the US by having a "Green Card" which actually is not green anymore.

This usually involves having a sponsor of some sort and is a drawn out process at times. As far as recognizing our ticket as qualifications, I have heard although not have personally experienced, that US companies and contractors hold out tickets in high regard. That does not mean that they can freely allow work in their jurisdictions, but it may help getting that preverbal “foot into the door”.
