Your post makes not of the fact that the conductors to and from the various switches are _not_ joined to form single conductors, but are _separate_ circuit pathways.

And that you do not believe that is what 300.4 describes.

That would mean "Ring circuits" must be code compliant.

All this makes little sense to me.

I can not run a pair of 12 AWGs from breaker to a single outlet but I can do it in a ring fashion.

Electrically I am missing the difference.
