The requirement of 12 in. from a box
doesn't say as measured along the sheath of the cable, just 12 in. form the box,
cabinet, etc.
So you would be OK with 10'
of free NM between the staple
and the box?
How about the 4.5' requirement?
Can I have 20' of loose NM hanging between
staples 4.5' apart?
