I would say Im used to the cold, having grown up in New England. Since Ive never lived anywhere else, I take the weather for granted. So, you just have to deal with the cold, ice and snow. The way I deal with it is to wear lots of layers instead of one heavy jacket. And on the really cold, windy days, you just have to find some work indoors if you can!
We have a saying here in New England that if you dont like the weather, wait 5 minutes.

I remember on my visit to San Diego how the news reporters were getting all flustered about the rainstorm that hit the coast. Im thinking "whats the big deal?" And I remember standing outside in a t shirt and shorts and having people ask me "Are you cold?" I told them how back home it was cold and snowing, so 50 degrees in January (at night) was pretty nice! The moral of the story is that if youre not used to rain, cold and snow it can be a real shock.
