Al, I'm looking at a table in the IEEE green book that tells me that if the phase conductor is 30" away from the grounding conductor, the impedance is 2.65 times higher than when the phase conductor and grounding conductors are 2" apart. I'm assuming that the water pipe will have a much greater spacing and the impedance difference will be even greater. Don(resqcapt19)
