I've had a few domains registered as well as dealt with a few hosting services. In the beginning I started with a free service but quickly realized that it was not good for much more that a family news type of site. Not very much bandwidth nor storage and a lot of popups.

If you commit to a small monthly fee of approximately $10 per month you can get something that should satisfy just about any contractor. I've had very good experience with "1and1.com". They were supposed to be one of the largest if not the largest hosting service in Europe and decided to tap the U.S. market. They buiilt a new headquarters in eastern Pa. and made a commitment to this market.

For my registrations, I've been using "Go-Daddy" through 1and1 for about $9 per year and have been satisfied with them to this point.

I currently have my business name registered GLENMAWR.COM and have not much more than a place holder up now but have plans to do something more with it in the future.

My first site has evolved into something more than I imagined. I've been bitten by the digital photography bug and have several thousand images up on my site. If you've got a bit of time and would like to see more photos like this:

You can see them here PARACEFAN.NET

(I hope you've got broadband)
