Sometimes, depending upon the condition of the existing fittings and, of course, what the owner stipulates.

I'll never try to re-use anything which is in any way suspect, but to be honest some of the 30+ year old receptacles and switches installed here (if a good brand such as MK)are still far superior in quality to the cheap no-name brands available new.
