Is there a NEC or NESC code that dictates how far a pellet stove vent has to be from a gas or electric meter? Or is this dictated by the local building department?

A customer asked me, & I could not give him a definiter answer.

Most POCO around here want three feet clearence from meter to anything that might interfer with the meter or cause ignition. They also look for 3 feet between a gas and an electric meter.
Last year they required that no gas meters be outside bedroom windows. The official reason was in case of a gas leak. The unofficial reason was complaints about meter readers peeking in the windows.

If it was easy, anyone could do it.
