I have two code questions, and I can't find them in the code book.

1. Do closets have to have lights in them? I know where the lights have to be located, but my customer doesn't want any.

2. For services, if the panel is farther than 10 feet from the meter, it has to be in ridgid conduit, and less than it is ok to use emt.

Thanks for any info you can give me.

#1. No

#2. Check your local codes. I've never heard of that one.

210.70 of the NEC doesn't require closet lights.
You're from the Chicago area and Chicago's 210 70(a)(2), does require wall switch controlled closet lights.

NEC does not require RMC, 230.43.
Chicago's version of 230.43 does not allow EMT for service entrance conductors.
