can anyone direct me to some info regarding low voltage halogen accent lighting. particularly i'm looking for a system that consists of 2 parallel wires(cables) that support adjustible fixtures. the cables are connected with a turnbuckle for tension.

You could try Contractor's Choice Lighting. They have a website. I don't know it off hand but you will find it if you search for that name.
I think I've seen what you describe in their catalog.

Home Depot carries this product last time I checked in the lighting department.

I use "Kable Light" from Tech Lighting. It is a high quality (expensive) product that is far better than what the depot carries. The have a website www.techlighting.com Be aware that your first time out you might find this stuff to be a pain to install. Any questions post here or e mail I'll be glad to help.
