Does the NEC specifically state that service conductor shall be USE or SE cable? If so, please state article number. Thanks

Individual Service Conductors in raceways may be of a type that is suitable for environment encountered (usually wet locations). As far as cables such as NM or UF, their specific articles (334.12, 340.12, respectively) state that they are not permitted to be used a service-entrance cable.
