A previous thread got me wondering.
Is a 1" LB installed on 1/2" RMC a violation of 314.23(E)exception?
Or does this only pertain to enclosures exceeding 100 cu.in?

I believe that the rule requires independent support of any conduit body that is larger than the trade size of the conduit that is supporting it. The exception permits conduit bodies that have more than 100 cubic inches of volume to be supported by a conduit of the same trade size as the conduit body.

So how would one properly support a conduit body independent of the conduit? I would imagine drilling a hole through the body for a fastener would be an illegal "field modification", right?
