When installing lo/vo lighting in a residential dwelling controlled by a wall switch/dimmer, where does your local inspector allow the electronic transformer to be installed? In a junction box, outside the junction box, loose? Where talking about line voltage and lo-voltage together (input 120V 50-60Hz 0.5A, output 12V 20KHz, loads 50W-150W). Most inspector here at least agree that no installation complies 100%.
Any thoughts?

Does anyone make a transformer that mounts on the 6-32 screws with line connections on backside? This way the 120 volt connections could be contained in the box.

Yes most magnetic types are configured like you mentioned (either held by screws or treaded for a lock-nut),but i'm referring to the electronic type, haven't seen one of that design yet.

Loose is not a good choice. And it cannot be outside the box with 120 V conductors exposed.

There is surely a way to strap it to something or you can drill and tap its mounting bracket for screws.
