I was impressed at @ remodel job today.
The sheetrock was cut perfectly around the boxes, a matchbook cover would not make it's way bettween rock & box, this without any mud...
The owner( DIY'er) had applied his wife'slipstick to the boxes, pressed the rock against them, and cut as marked, resulting in better than the pro's do.

Most of the drywallers out here wear lipstick (& nose rings, etc).
I'll have to tell them to try it!!

I ran into this a few months ago. Same deal. Homeowner/drywaller. Nice job, but residual lipstick got on a few wires, and of course, all over my shirt.

But how did the wires look wearing lipstick!

The lipstick looked nice, but the eyeshadow on the eyeball fixtures was better.

don't laugh I've used that trick. Just don't let the wife catch you using her good lipstick, though!

is there a requirement that the edge of the sheet rock has to me "mudded up"..no matter how well opening is cut?
And if so, would the lipstick interfere with the adhesion of the sheet rock mud?

Is there a favorite shade, or one that works better than others?

314.21 Repairing Plaster and Drywall or Plasterboard.
