Well, the other post got me thinking...
The temperature rating of a conductor is the temp. which the insulation can be exposed to without deteriorating. Increased temp. rating also means higher ampacities on a given condutor size. However, the proximity to heat generating fixtures or appliances often requires higher temp. rated supply conductors. The higher temp. rating permits exposure to higher external temperatures as well, correct?
