My registeration expired so i had to register again with a different user ID.
My client wants to purchase a xray machine with the following info:
Xray machine 100Amp 208Volt single phase branch circuit with a momentary draw of 225Amps. Panel in the office is three phase 100Amp main with 1/0 aluminum conductors and an actual load of about 50Amps.
Will the new xray machine work with a 225Amp momentary draw? Will the 225A momentary draw have any effect on the computers since the panel is only 100amps? Did any of you have any experience with xray machines? can you give me any pointers before i start please.
I know about 1% about X-ray machines so take this advice as a bump. You have a 100 amp oanel already loaded to 50 amps and you want to add a 100 amp load to it? 50 + 100 = ? As for the computers, the standard advice is to use an UPS system. They should continue to work for at least fifteen minutes after your main breaker blows. As for the 250 amp start up, this is no problem to me. #10 wire can take 10,000 amps for 1 second. [Don said so.] ~Peter
