Okay i work in a health care facility in southern california. My question to all of you is are we required by law to test our receptacles in patient care areas? And if so is it all the hospital or just patient rooms...I ve looked it up on the internet but all i found was old stuff....PLEASE HELP

Drgnz23, yes you are. You are also required to do equipotential and leakage testing. This can be found in Chapter 4 of the 2002 NFPA 99 or chapter 3 of the earlier cycles of NFPA 99.

I'll post the actual sections tomorrow.

I think NFPA 99 requires it, I don't know if you have to follow it.

Drgnz23, the actual chapter sections from the 2002 NFPA 99 is, 4.3.3 through 4.3.4.2.2. (4.3.4.1.1 through 4.3.4.4.2 covers receptacle testing)
