Sounds like the thing to do is break out the Dremel and just keep sharpening the same bit until there ain't nothing left to sharpen.

Should save me a few pennies. I appreciate all the help. And thanks Spark Master Flash for the details on sharpening.

I use bullseye auger bits, cut the bullseye off and stick it in my armbreaker drill. They last a lot longer before needing sharpening.

I use the cheap spade bits. Use a good file and you can keep them cutting for a long time. I don't want to spend big bucks for a auger bit and ruin it on the first hole. [Linked Image]

On the other hand you can just keep buying spade bits, wear em out fast, buy more, and deduct the cost of them from your tax return
