Where does on sign up to become an Inspector? I wouldn't mind being one if the dirty side of the industry fails to treat me right....

Actually I wouldn't mind anyway.... That, or teaching the Trade, seeing that there should be a very high demand for all these barely existant programs now....

Or, maybe a mindless desk job....

Anyway, I have notice some ciies have gotten better Inspectors in the last few years, some have gotten worse.

I really do not understand why the worker would be penalized for working without certification, yet there is no penalty applied to the employer. I think certification is a good idea to improve industry standards, but placing all of the fallout strictly on the employee is wrong. The again, I work in New Jersey where no such law exists, yet.

ShockMe77, currently there is no penalty if you work without certification and never claim that you are certified. The only penalty is if you claim to be certified and are not.

17,000 have passed over the past 3 years. Which is actually high because its been so long some people that have taken it are no longer in the field such as myself. Estimates place the number of electricians between 60,000-100,000 in the state. At most, less than 1/3 have passed the test.

DAS has delayed, stated there will be no more delays, delayed, stated there will be no more delays, delayed, stated there will be no more delays, now they delay again by saying, "Well if you have your application in your are ok."

Give me a break.
