How do you typically physically flush mount a smaller (8 circuit)sub panel for residential new work.

I screw it to a stud on one side & then screw a 2 foot piece of 2x4 on the other side thus creating a phantom stud. When the drywall is installed, the panel will be just about as solid as if it was really screwed to 2 studs.
