I noticed the topic title is "Family DYI-er"- I've heard of DIY'ers (Do-It-yourselfers), but "DYI"?

OF COURSE! It stands for "Do Yourself In"!!! [Linked Image]

The kid asked me: "Are you working on that too?" When asked what he ment by "too" his reply was: "Oh daddy spent all day yesterday trying to fix that and just gave up."
It's quite incredible some of the family secrets that get revealed by kids as well! [Linked Image]

Oh well... last monday I had a chat with one of my EE teachers at school and he told me about a fault-tracing method used by the "old-timers". Burning out the fault. Put in a way bigger fuse and see where it smokes. There you got the fault.
