Anyone know of a freeby software download that will draw schematics with the symbols and notations actually used at school (especially resistance.... not a resistor image) ???
I've tried express ExpressPCB and ExpressSCH, its not bad, but wld like something more basic.

Such a pretty plea. I can't resist throwing you a bone, even if it's a dirty one.
Don't bother with the cheap stuff in the stores. The cheap demo CD's, that I've bought, are absolute crap.
If you find something, tell all of us. Good luck!

Never tried the programs you mention, but I did play around with this a few years back under Linux.. I believe it also runs on windows... Not sure if it will fit your needs, but here is the link: http://hans.breuer.org/dia/ Good point is that it is open source (read: free) software...

Err correction here... that page is a valid link, but this is the link to the actual project homepage where the freshest info will be found: http://www.gnome.org/projects/dia/

To Mill Electric, Thanks for emailing that link ( http://www.deltacad.com/ ) to me. Looks like a nice lil easy to use program that I'll spend some time playin with over the weekend. Even tho just a 45 day trial at least I get to try it 'full featured' before buying. Trollog, Thanks for that link... looks a lil too 'indepth/technical' for what I have in mind, but thankyou for posting anyways. I'm just looking for something to play around with and that one above looks like it may fit the bill. Thanks, Greg

I have played with this one a (very) little bit. Seems like once you're on to it, that it works pretty good. They call it "eagle" http://www.cadsoft.de/ might be worth a try. Steve AKA trainwire
