I am going to run a dedicated circuit to a hot tub (60 amp) load center/GFCI disconnect.

Questions:

Can I use cable type THHN or do I have to use something like USE? Would this be classified as a service wire when carrying power to the disconnect? Can I run more than just the spa off of the feeders to the spa disconnect?

Thanks,

seems like the fire department might get involved

Are you having a new service (meter and all) installed for the hot tub? If not, then it's not a service.

How are you getting the power to the tub?

Will it be in a raceway?

Will it be run underground?

Too many variables in your post to start to give answers, except for the question about it being considered a service...

Hi,
I did not see in your post WHERE the spa was located? That is VERY important. You are possibly talking about two different wiring methods. Forget about using SE cable. What is this THHN cable you are talking about? Multi-Conductor Cable for a cable tray or conduit?

What is your experience level? Are you licensed at all?

Spas are tricky and expensive to wire up.

There is more to this than you may have first thought.

Look at the topic, I think he is quoting a post from a DIY site for discussion.
