A customer of mine Mon morning had a pole out front hit which ripped the 3Phase 240v Delta service off. Had a couple of burnt breakers and water heater.
Have two 200a panels one of which is fed from a 100a 3p breaker out of the first panel. The three pole 100 was burnt badly as well as one of the buss bars feeding it.
In the panel, which is fed by the 100a, had three burn t 2p one 3p breaker. What do think caused the burning?

Was there any higher votage on the pole that might have contacted the feeder on the way down?

There is, which makes me think of something. Another one of my customers which is in an industrial park farther west,
lost a primary leg to the xfmr. The Power co was troubleshooting it. During the day while I was waiting for them to fix the hit pole, I hunted down the trouble man who I met with, and he said a cut out down the line was open. Maybe what happened was when the low voltage line pulled off it snapped into the primary, which opened the cutout and also fried my breakers inside this other building... Interesting, I didnt put the two together
