The other day I was in Home Depot and found a new product on the shelf. They are now stocking a 250' roll of 12/2/2, black, red, white, white w/red strip and ground. The price isn’t bad at about $54 per roll. This is a new product to me and I'm just curious if anybody has started using it yet.

Haven't used it yet, but it should be handy for those combination heater/light/fan units in bathrooms.

It was developed for AFCI installation applications AFC is thinking of developing the same for AC cable.

I havn't used the NMB but I have used MC cable - 12/2/2 & 12/2/2/2. Saves on home runs and labor costs. It comes with a green ground and a green with a yellow stripe.
I did miss the neat look of conduit though...

That's nice. I was looking for 14/3 AC there the other day. They have 14/2, 12/2 and 12/3 but apparently 14/3 doesn't exist with them. Not even a place for it. I'll stick to the supply house, thanks.

Nice idea. Violates 200.6(E), though.

How is it a violation?
The neutral or "grounded" conductor is white/black - white/red - white/blue.
The "grounding" conductors are green and green with a yellow stripe (in the MC type cable).

The 12-2-2 Nm-b I've used has 2 grounded conductors, one is plain white, and the other one is white with a red stripe. I'd agree with Redsy,it is technically a violation of 200.6,but the ahj's I've come in contact with, will accept it. Or maybe that's red with a white stripe.
